AGRANA is the first European maker of fruit juice concentrates to have made the move into the world’s largest procurement market for process apples.

In order to continue the dynamic expansion, AGRANA acquired in June 2006 a 50% stake in a subsidiary of a leading Chinese apple juice concentrate producer in Xianyang. The plant is located in the province of Shaanxi.

In cooperation with his joint venture partner Yantai North Andre Juice C., Ltd., AGRANA produces apple juice concentrate for the export market, which is compared to European products more sweet (low-acidity).

China has the largest apple growing regions in the world and is featured of the production of one third of the total global apple harvest. Fruit juice concentrates are traded globally - supplying Japan, Australia, Southeast Asia, North America and Europe.
